POEM: Grateful

The mind is seeking for things to grasp onto
And the heart is seeking to let go

My mind says oh poor you so alone on a special day
The heart sings with joy to welcome this day

The mind says but your beloved is not with you
The heart says why would I put such conditions on my beloved

The mind says but you have no family to celebrate with
The heart says I’m right here loving you fully as you are, come home to yourself, it is all love, there is nowhere to be, nothing to do but to fall in love with this moment as it is, all you ever have is yourself.

The mind is left speechless and quiet
The heart wants to burst out of my chest in love with life

Thank you for being you and I could not be more grateful to have the honor to love you! To love this life not because it’s special or extraordinary but simply because I get to live it
